Video speed controller

InTab adds a small speed pill over videos so you can speed up or slow down playback on almost any site - not just YouTube. Manage it in Settings → YouTube → Playback speed controller.

Using it

  • The pill appears over a large enough, visible HTML5 video. In hover-only mode it shows only when you hover the video.
  • slows down, + speeds up, and clicking the rate label resets to 1×.
  • Keyboard: + / = faster, - / _ slower (ignored while you’re typing in a field).
  • Drag the pill to reposition it; it works in fullscreen too.
  • Right-click the pill for quick settings.

Options

  • Step size - how much each press changes the rate (±0.1, ±0.25, or ±0.5; default 0.25).
  • Show on hover only, Remember position, and Remember speed.
  • All websites - when off, the controller only appears on youtube.com.
  • Keyboard shortcuts can be disabled if they clash with a site’s own controls.

Notes

  • It only controls real HTML5 video elements; some players reject a rate change mid-buffer (InTab ignores those safely).
  • Tiny or hidden videos are skipped.
