Pick your trade-off

A featherweight placeholder keeps the title and favicon, and wakes instantly when you return.

The RAM math

Your tab habit can stay

Let unused pages rest while you work in the active tab. They are still there when you need them.

Without a suspender

  • Every open tab keeps its full page in memory, even from last week.
  • Tab memory piles into gigabytes: fans spin, the battery drains, switching lags.
  • The only fix is closing tabs - and losing your place.

With InTab

  • Tabs idle for 30 quiet minutes go to sleep, on your schedule.
  • Their memory goes back to the tabs and apps you're actually using.
  • Every tab keeps its spot, title and favicon - nothing to re-find.
How it works

Set the bedtime and keep browsing

1

InTab watches idle time

A once-a-minute check tracks each tab's idle time - your active tab never counts.

2

Quiet tabs doze off

After 30 idle minutes (your setting) a tab suspends - title gets a 💤, favicon stays.

3

Anything wakes them

Click, press a key, or switch to it - it restores instantly, parked never closed.

Built in

Decide which tabs get a rest

Sleep or Hibernate

Sleep parks the page for instant wake; Hibernate frees all RAM and reloads on return.

Minutes to weeks

Suspend after anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 weeks - default is 30 minutes.

Protected sites

Keep domains, wildcards or URL patterns permanently awake - matching tabs never sleep.

One-click sweeps

Suspend every other tab or a whole window in one click - restore just as fast.

Never suspend

Keep the important tabs wide awake

Choose the safeguards and protected sites that keep active work out of the sleep queue.

Processed on your device

Suspension runs entirely inside your browser - even the unsaved-form check. InTab never tracks URLs, page content, or what you type.

Good questions

Before you ask

No. Before suspending, InTab checks the tab for unsaved text in forms and editors and skips it if anything is found - that guard ships on by default. Tabs playing audio, pinned tabs and your active tab are never suspended either.
